A woman who spends
all of her work time and most of her spare time helping others was named
the 2004 Outstanding Citizen of the Year. Betsy Smith, whose job is directing
the charitable works of the Fort Logan Ministries, was honored for that
work as well as for spending countless hours on behalf of the sick, the
poor, and those who are just down on their luck. |
| Dr. Larry Oliver,
a local veterinarian and farmer was named Outstanding Farmer. He has a
reputation of not only helping other farmers, but also as an advisor and
a vet. He is a caring person for the animals, but more importantly, he
cares about people. |

Alfred Pence,
pharmacist and owner of Coleman's Drug Store was presented with the Health
Care Service Award. Alfred is well known as a person that goes above and
beyond the call of duty to help serve his patients and the community. |

Harris, a math teacher at Lincoln County High School was presented with
the Big Apple Award for service to education. Mrs. Harris provides inspiration
to her students and has the respect of her colleagues.. |
